Browsers do it, it feels weird not to be able to close a tab using the middle click (aka as mouse wheel click)

This should already work. It closes on middle mouse button up.

kjk: It seems to only work if you double middle click (first one highlight the red close button, second does actually close). Browsers usually require only one click

for me it closes when i click with the mousewheel on the tab. the close button get's red for a short time.

Interestingly, double clicking with the middle button does close tabs. First click highlights the close button, second click (anywhere on the same tab) closes the tab. Seems quite intentional.
